It happened when Jerry was still pre-school. At the time he was very much a morning
person. It was Saturday morning and his stomach was growling big time. Well, that's okay
because Jerry knew how to make his own breakfast.
Let's see.
Step 1 - get a bowl out of the cupboard
Step 2 - get the box of cereal from the pantry
Step 3 - pour the cereal in the bowl
Step 4 - clean up the spilt cereal
Step 5 - get the milk from the fridge
Step 6 - pour the milk on the cereal
Now, I know what you are thinking. Step 7 - clean up the spilt milk. Actually, Jerry never
got past step 5. You see, mom bought those great big jugs of milk. Well, actually, this is
years ago and the milk came in glass bottles. This one was brand new, as in full. Jerry
knew from past experience that he was not yet strong enough to handle a full one. What to
do?
Jerry's stomach won the debate. Get mom up.
That took some doing, but mom finally stumbled into the kitchen, seemingly knowing what
her role was. She opened the fridge and grabbed a glass bottle.
As she began to pour, Jerry tapped her on the elbow and asked, "Mom. Why are you
pouring orange juice on my cereal?"
